What SKEYE Nano 2 does bring to the table is a fun little toy to test out the waters in the drone world. This drone can fly, has its own personal controller, and it does the job. To give you an idea of the size disparity between the drone and the rest of the world, here’s an image for you. Its controller is about twice its size. In fact it is so small that it’s hard to say if it looks like a toy, or a James Bond gadget. The maneuverability shifts the tide more on the ‘spy gadget’ side, but hey.
And for that price, I think it is safe to take a shot with the purchase. A $20 drone basically makes it the most basic starter drone in history, with little to no risk because of no monetary investment. The drone is small, but it can fly all the same. The battery may be an issue as it can only fly for 5 minutes before running out of juice. Charging time also takes a while. 30 minutes to take it to full battery after draining. That is a lot of charging time for such a small amount of time on the air.
The drone’s biggest claim to fame however (other than its size) is its maneuverability on the air. One can also learn the basic commands rather quickly, so the Nano 2 can be a great first step in learning how to operate a drone in general.
The drone is currently on sale for $19, but also hovers around the $40 range on regular days. If you are looking for the most minimal-risk drone investment, this may be the one for you.
