Taxi drones are the transports of the future. Visually, it the concepts look like something from fiction. In function, they may even create an easier time for travel. What is the impact of a fully functioning taxi drone?

The idea of a car flying away instead of suffering in traffic has been in the minds of people since the early days of travel. Who does not want to simply lift off and get to their destinations in half the time?
That is the appeal of taxi drones. It is different; something most have never seen in action. These transports are also more efficient with travel, and do not clog up streets in the city. If it flies, all eyes immediately go towards its direction. That is why several companies worldwide, big and small, all want to be the first to create a taxi drone for the public.
Vector Drone
From auto companies like Boeing, to even social media giant Facebook; everyone wants their brand associated with the next big thing. It turns out, even individual countries want to be the first in this endeavor.
Malaysia for instance has unveiled their plans for their very own flying car. This car, which looks like a very large quadcopter, can carry people, as well as luggage. The Vector drone runs on lithium-ion battery, and can fly for (approximately) 30-90 minutes at a time. The Vector has four massive rotors on each side, which generates lift as well as control direction while flying.
Future Plans
The Vector also has a decent carrying capacity of up to 200 kilograms, good enough for 1-2 people on board. Autonomy of the transport would also be a huge issue, as that would eliminate the required space for a driver onboard.
Malaysia is not the only part of Asia where flying cars may soon be a reality. An inventor in the Philippines successfully documented first flights for his own taxi drone. While it did not fly very long (about 10 minutes), it was still a step in the right direction.
