Drones with cameras go hand in hand these days with safety departments. Police officers can use them to spot suspects before they engage. Firefighters use drones as sort of a scout to scope out which parts of the buildings have fires in them. Search and Rescue groups create more accurate search parties with a drone leading at the helm.
Violent Motions Captured:
A new experimental drone is turning heads with its ability to spot violent individuals. The AI in this particular drone can identify violent actions among a crowd of people. This will then interpret the data while also learning from it with an algorithm. The end goal is to have a database of violent motions which include (but not limited to) punches, kicks, and even more terrifying ones like shooting and stabbing motions.
In theory, the drone can help with security in the area when, especially in a crowded event, may find it difficult to see everything. An eye in the sky means more ground can be covered. And the AI algorithm system makes it that the drone does not need an operator to detect any incident. The drone can then report the incident to the ground units, where they can then investigate further. This will give the officers on the area a more accurate place to start searching. It creates an efficient and fast-response type of an operation, which means safety is far more secure.
Of course, the drone (and its AI system) is still in its experimental phase. Meaning it still is not perfect, or even ready for actual field testing. So far the data they covered involve a small group. This means accuracy may fall dramatically the larger the group the drone has to supervise. But at least it is nice to know that crowded events worldwide may soon have an eye in the sky. Watching and warning officers of potential threats to the people within.
