I find coasters one of the most annoying things on a table for some reason. Yes, it’s not the end of the world but annoying nevertheless, my annoyance can be ridden of with the Floating Mug.
The Floating Mug comes with a built in coaster that’s attached to the handle while the cup floats in the air right above the coaster/stand. The cup’s design is inspired by a banana holder and is it’s made out of porcelain. The Floating Mug is a standard sized cup that can be used just like a normal cup for various liquids such as tea, coffee, water etc.
The guys/girls behind the floating mug are taking pledges on kickstarter.com to get the cup to production. A pledge of $30 or more will get you one of these cool looking floating cups. As of this writing, they have received $9,881 in pledges with a goal of $15,000 by July 31, 2012.
