Earlier we have introduced you some wrist bands and watches that were exclusively used to provide an accurate overview of your daily physical activity; whether it be walking, running or climbing. Now Sony has taken this concept up a notch. It is a new Sony SmartBand Talk smartwatch which has been designed to provide users with the ability to make calls directly from their wrists as well as track their activities and carry out other actions using the integrated SIM. The design is IP68 waterproof and dustproof certified and will connect to devices running Google’s latest Android 4.4 operating system via Near Field Communication (NFC) technology and Bluetooth 4.0.
The smartwatch is fitted with a curved 1.4-inch black and white ePaper display that is powered by an ARM Cortex-M4 32-bit processor with 2MB of internal flash memory. The watch is fitted with a built-in microphone and speaker for voice calls. The battery is capable of powering it for up to 3 days on a single charge. The SmartBand is equipped with A-GPS/Glonass and it is IP67 certified for dust and water resistance.
Once launched this Fall, the Sony SmartBand Talk will be available in four different color finishes and will cost you at around $210 or €160. Via: Sony
