Yes, we know that mixing fire and plants is a terrible idea which can result in a lot of destruction. Thankfully, the Torch Plant Light Botanical Candle is not really a candle but more of a plant and soft mood light in one cool looking unit. Despite it not being an actual candle, it does have a wick. The wick is used to “transport” water to the plant.
The plant sits on top of a ball of earth and at the bottom of the vase is filled with water. Between the ball of earth/soil and the water at base is empty space. Between that empty space is the wick I mentioned. That wick delivers the water to the roots of the plant.
The light that you see is given off by LEDs which are hidden under the plant. There are two sizes: small and medium that cover four different types of plants. The Dracaena and Fern are both small plants while the Dwarf Umbrella Tree and Fichus are medium sized plants.
All you need to do is make sure they have access to sunlight and don’t forget to fill the base with water as you see the water slowly get sucked up via the wick. The LEDs in the plant run off a single CR2032 battery. The entire unit looks cool but I’m not quite sold on that price. I’m sure a person with some skills could create the same thing for a fraction of the price of this $181 Torch Plant Light Botanical Candle.
