A couple of years back we reviewed a blade-less fan known as the Dyson Air Multiplier. The fan is designed to provide smoother airflow and does not have any exposed rotating blades, operating in a safer manner than conventional bladed fans. The fan draws a comparatively small volume of air through an inlet in the base pillar and forces a much larger volume through an outlet in the upper ring; thus, a small brushless impeller in the fan’s base can power a much larger air outlet without exposing any blades.
Based on the same principal, Panasonic has created a unique lacquered version this fan, only looking more like a craft item. The fan is elegantly coated with lacquer (urushi) from the Fukui region, by dedicated artisans. It boasts to be the most beautiful fan in the world.
Each fan is made to order and will cost you over $1900. Allow extra time for delivery.
