Well I would not call it a printer because it is so small, but I can’t call it a pen either because it is bigger than that. However we can call it a “Prinpen” as it prints but works like a pen. The Mini Mobile Robotic Printer is a revolutionary product developed by ZUtA Labs. It is as if you have removed the printer head/cartridge section of your printer. It is small enough to be carried in a pocket of your backpack and when needed it runs along a piece of paper laying out ink just like a fountain pen. It is, more or less, like a pen with a brain. Just like a pen the printer is not restricted by the size of the paper, so you can print virtually on any size paper and of course no more paper jams.
The Robotic Printer needs a flat surface to work on. It connects to your laptop or smartphone through Bluetooth and works by moving itself across your page while printing. The cartridge will last 1,000 pages and the battery a full hour; that is, printing 1.2 pages per minute, and up to 72 pages on a single charge.
The printer will have to be aligned properly at the page for correct printing. It will stop automatically at the end of the page and wait for you to place and align it on the next page.
The device measures just 10 cm (3.9 inches) height and 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) in diameter, and weighs just 300g (10.6 oz). When it becomes available in January 2015, the printer will cost you around $200.
