With the market already inundated with tablets by others, in a bold and innovative move, Microsoft announced the launch of its own tablet, the “Surface”. This one stands apart from the others in the sense that there is a kickstand incorporated into the main body of the tablet and a 3 mm thick magnetically attached screen protection cover that has been integrated into a standard keypad. It will also sport both a Micro SD slot and a USB port. The screen is 10.6”; a little larger than the iPad and the unit weighs under 1.3 pounds.
It is anticipated that the Microsoft Surface tablet will be released during Windows 8’s official release later this year and hoped that costs will be at par with major competitors.
Edit: You can now order one online at Walmart.
