Mercedes-Benz Metris Terra Camper Edition by Sportsmobile

I don’t know about the readers of Geek Extreme but I absolutely love Motorhomes and Camper Vans. They are available in many sizes and have their own classifications. Class A refers to the full-size motorhomes that are pretty much the size of a bus. The Class B is often referred to as a Camper Van and usually built on the chassis of a van like a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. They are perfect for up to two people max. Add an additional person and it will start to feel uncomfortable. I personally know this because I’ve rented a Class B for one week in the past. Class C is generally between 20 to 33 feet and also based on a van or truck chassis but intended for larger groups.

The Mercedes-Benz Metris Terra Camper Edition seen here is built by Sportsmobile and their most compact camper van they’ve built. The company, Sportsmobile, has been in the business for over 56 years now! Because the Mercedes Metris is a fairly compact van, don’t expect to see features seen in many other camper vans or motorhomes. Something this compact is all about affordability, versatility, and function. It’s very easy to drive thanks to its compact size and can sleep a family of 4! It can easily be used as a daily driver as well.

The camper van can easily be transformed from a four-person camper to a cargo hauler. According to the company, it can even be turned into a six-passenger van with the optional additional seating. The price is also below many of the SUV’s and trucks on the market making the Sportsmobile Metris a top contender for someone who is new to the camper van lifestyle.

The van is less than 17′ long and is 76.75″ tall including the Penthouse Top. The vehicle features two rear seats, Smartfloor – Track Flooring, a removable rear bed, removable cabins for sink, fridge, and stove. There is also a 10.5-gallon water tank with an electric pump, a sink with integrated gray water tank, and a pull out faucet which can also be used for an outside shower.

The camper van also comes with a Dometic Cool Freeze CF-025DC freezer, a removable Dometic Orgio 3000 stove, LED lightings, two USB outlets, one 110v outlet, Votronic 110v charger, Votronic Battery & Tank Capacity Monitor, Insulated blinds for front and rear windows, and optional two additional rear seats.
