It’s official. The software giant Intel just keeps breaking records for drones. It seems the company really wants to make the next drone display bigger, grander, and greater. And the craziest part is, the record is something that they already own. Talk about competing with yourself. But hey, if this isn’t a message to other drone companies around the world to step up their game, I don’t know what is.
Intel Breaks Record:
Yes, the record for simultaneous drones in the sky for drone displays was broken this month for Intel’s 50th anniversary. Of course, being such a momentous occasion, the drone department did not disappoint. Using their specialized Shooting Star drones, they lit up the sky with amazing visuals, patterns, and creations. A total of 2,018 drones flew to the skies last July 18 in Folsom, California. This number blows every other contender out of the water, giving Intel a clear path to the Guinness World Record.
2,018 drones, which coincidentally marks the 50th year the company Intel had been running. At some point you would think whether they could have added a few more to further solidify the record. But it seems they are fine with where they are right now. Little by little, they are straying away from the rest of the drone companies. Sooner or later they will just keep adding until everyone else just can’t match.
The closest competitor Intel has with their Shooting Star drones is the Chinese drone company Ehang. Ehang recently unveiled 1,374 drones for the Labor Day show in Xi’an, China. This was a previous record holder, but of course, records are simply just meant to be broken. This current run by Intel evidently smashed their competition, leaving them to the dust.
Drone displays are becoming more and more popular. You may be seeing the last few years of fireworks use in night events. Maybe it’s for the best. Maybe, it’s just the future taking charge.
