When Amanda Lapalme retired from cosplaying in 2018, she never imagined she would start a new career as an artist. But that’s precisely what happened; her whimsical illustrations have won her fans worldwide.
Recently, Amanda decided to open up an online shop selling prints of her work, and I’m happy to say that I’m one of her biggest fans! Check out Amanda’s art on Mana Moon if you want something unique and charming to hang on your wall.
But there’s a saying that the past is never dead, which is true for Amanda. She’s recently returned to cosplaying, albeit in a more low-key way. Gone are the days of attending conventions in full costume; now, Amanda enjoys dressing up as her favorite character for fun.
If you’re a fan of League of Legends, then perhaps you’ll enjoy this photo of Amanda cosplaying as Jinx. She looks so much like the real thing; it’s uncanny!
And here’s a video of her nailing the Jinx persona. Be sure to message her on Twitter to encourage her to create more cosplay outfits like this. Even though she’s officially retired, perhaps we can convince her to come out of retirement for special occasions!
Of course, Amanda’s art is not limited to drawings of video game characters. She also has a beautiful and detailed drawing of the LOL character Katarina. This piece is currently available as a print in her online shop.
Though I’m always sad to see my favorite cosplayers retire, I’m happy that Amanda has found a new creative outlet in illustration. Her art is delightful, and I hope she continues producing it for many years.
If you enjoy Amanda’s work, consider showing your support on her Patreon page. She is currently working on an illustrated children’s book, which I’m sure will be just as charming as her other illustrations.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Amanda’s work; I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
