Looks like Intel is at it again. After creating a larger-than-life copy of TIME Magazine’s iconic cover, Intel brought their drones to San Francisco.
It seems that drone displays are becoming more and more of a staple in events. This time, the Shooting Star drones of Intel showcased their dazzling display at the Pride Weekend. The show acted as the opening performance for the event, which had thousands of attendees.

This one is a bit unique, however. Usually, drone shows occur deep into the night sky, high up the ground. The show in San Francisco was performed inside the AT&T 1 Powell building. Although a bit smaller than its usual shows, Intel still made history. The show is the first ever drone display to take place indoors. A feat that required a lot of planning and safety measures.
The show had 50 Shooting Star drones perform a dance in the air while paired with Born This Way. The song, originally by Lady Gaga, was performed live at the event with cellist Tina Guo.
The event finished without a hitch, proving yet again that drones can fully replace fireworks for night light showcases. With more and more events worldwide opting to use drone displays over fireworks, you may soon see these firecracker events phased out.
What’s next for Intel and their Shooting Star drones, you ask? Well, the record for most drones in a single event seem to be broken a lot. It feels like a game of one-upmanship between the drone companies of the world. Everyone seems to want to take that throne for their company’s pride. Even more, events also want to be known for showcasing the world’s largest drone display.
I guess the true winners here are the spectators – us. Since we get to see marvelous light displays that offer no loud noises, no smoke, and no risk of fire. Truly, it is a great time to be a drone fan.
