New Hampshire Rep. Pushing for Drone Bill

State representative Neal Kurk of Weare is looking to push more regulations in the state of New Hampshire this year.
Since 2012, Rep. Kurk has been trying to regulate drone usage, but his efforts have been unsuccessful for a number of reasons. Policy proposals would always get shot down in the Senate despite making it past the House.
This session, Kurk wants the bill to focus on regulating public drone pilots, rather than both public pilots and hobbyists. This is because public pilots include commercial aircraft pilots and lobbyists who are against the bill restricting the areas that UAI can travel.
Kurk says that this bill will be able to let the government use drones “in a positive way to help all of us,” while protecting society from “inappropriate government activity” that can violate privacy.
The bill would prevent drones from being flown near prisons and jails. Additionally, police and other law enforcement groups as well as the government would be restricted from using drones to monitor people without warrants, except in cases of emergency.
