Another Drone Smuggler Fails to Deliver Drugs to a UK Prison

Smugglers using drones to transport contraband into prisons is nothing new, and the UK has seen several instances of this over the years.
Recently, a drone failed to deliver narcotics to Walton prison via drone, because the pilot bumped the device into a tree by accident.
Early on a Sunday morning, Walton prison staff found the drone and the attached packaged in a tree. The drone was found on Hornby Road, a very short distance away from the prison.
The staff called the police, and the police retrieved and dealt with both the drone and the narcotics quickly.
The staff claim to have seen a man trying to retrieve the drone from the tree before running away, towards a farm close by.
Steve Rice, the force’s chief inspector, said that the Meyerside Police was dedicated to finding ways to stop the use of drones in illegal activities, by using “cutting-edge technology and information from our communities.”
Rice made an appeal to the community, asking anyone who knew any information about this or any other drone smugglers to come forward.
The Meyerside Police will continue to work with HMP Liverpool to protect the people of Meyerside and the inmates of Walton prison safe from illegal drugs flown in via drones.
The case is currently still being investigated.
Walton is one of many prisons in the United Kingdom that is being targeted by a gang of drone smugglers. The criminals use drones to deliver narcotics to order, often dropping packages of drugs worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.
This drone gang is responsible for nearly 50 drops at prisons across the UK.
