Known for its creative and disruptive designs, from down under Australian PlusUs, winner of Best of CES 2016, has come up with a patented design of world’s thinnest and flexible (first of its kind) wireless charging pad. Prepared from genuine Italian leather, cork and real timbre veneer, Xpad indeed is an eco-friendly, game-changer and a beautiful product surpassing others in its category in technology as well.
Simply by looking at it, you might wonder if this bacon-thin (maybe thinner) piece of leather can charge your phone! Boasting a trimmed figure of 2.2mm, which is almost 75% thinner and heat reduction of almost 50% in comparison to other wireless chargers, Xpad raises the ante and set up a new benchmark for its competitors.
If you already own a wireless charger or are looking for one, you might already know how thick and boring the currently available charging pads are. Aligning with its thought process, PlusUs Xpad is a stylish product which is ultra thin and beautiful looking, delivering what it is supposed to, at a much faster rate than any of its competitors.
The underlying element in Xpad’s design is cork; which due to its excellent thermal insulation capability, is also used in the construction of spacecrafts. Thermal insulation reduces the transfer of heat during charging whereas providing safety due to its anti-static nature. PlusUs smartly reduced the size by pulling out the charging circuitry from the pad and created a separate unit. Along with a reduction in size, it also assists in reducing the heat.
The chip technology that Xpad uses automatically detects a Qi-compatible device resulting in a delivering charge at the fastest speed, which is almost twice the rate of other wireless pads. Due to its capability of detecting the device before making any contact, Xpad establishes a fast connection with the device without wasting time in searching for the charging spot.
Worth mentioning, Xpad is a crowd-funded initiative for which an Indiegogo campaign is launched on 19th Feb 2019. This campaign is managed by The Launchpad Agency with a goal set of 20,000 USD.
Without restricting itself to one charging protocol, Xpad is not choosy in terms of wall adapters as well. Be it Apple, Samsung or Laptops with USB; you can use Xpad with any of these wall chargers. Not to forget, Xpad can accommodate almost all the smartphones available in the market.
