Oenophilia Porto Sippers – Wine Glass With “Straws”

I’m pretty sure there are snobs that exists for virtually everything imaginable. There are those snobs who will eat certain types of food with only certain types of cutlery. There are baking snobs who only use a certain brand of machinery and there are coffee snobs who only use certain types of coffee and machines and of course there are snobs when it comes to wine. Thankfully, I know a few people who will give these snobs the middle finger when it comes to drinking wine. I have friends who put ice in their wine, drink box wine, as well as using a plastic straw to drink wine.

These Oenophilia Porto Sippers are pretty cool and will certainly start up a conversation. These hand-blow serving accoutrements date back to the 1600’s in Europe where they were referred to as Schnapps Pfeiffen. This is a different way to enjoy your port, liqueurs, and dessert wine. There is a difference in how the port tastes because with each sip, you are consuming the drink from the bottom of the glass where there is less oxidation.

Not only that but the “straw” allows the port to flow across the tongue for a unique and delightful sip. They measure in at 3.5-inches in height so don’t think you are getting something as large as a wine glass. A set of four will set you back only $39.98 on Amazon.
